During our years of repairing showers, it has become evident that most common causes of leaks are the following:

  • Cracked/decayed grout
  • Degraded silicone sealant
  • Poor installation of silicone sealant
  • Poor installation of shower trays/baths

Degrading of the grout can be a result of:

  • Harsh cleaning products
  • Harsh cleaning/scrubbing
  • General deterioration over time
  • Structural movement/house settling
  • Poor installation and preparation of the walls and tiles

A severely leaking shower has the potential of causing long term damage to the flooring, adjoining walls and downstairs ceilings.
